University of Žilina

Since 1991, Scheidt & Bachmann has been cooperating with the University of Žilina, Slovakia. In 2007, a framework agreement was signed between the company and the university. It is the cornerstone for the "Scheidt & Bachmann AWARD".  The award is given to the students with the best diploma theses of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Management and Computer Science and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

In addition, the Slovak branch regularly opens various interesting student positions, thanks to which students can apply their theoretical knowledge directly in practice on international projects.

ZAIT

We are one of the founding companies of ZAIT– Žilina´s IT cluster, which connects companies, schools and faculties focused on IT. It helps them to unite and expand the IT community in Žilina. We regularly participate in educational, promotional and sporting events organized by the cluster. Why? Because we are the company that employs the most IT professionals in Žilina. That is why we hold one of the vice-presidency positions in the organisation.

LIETAVA CASTLE

It is located 10 km from Žilina above the village Lietava. Thanks to its respectable area (9,478 m2), it is one of the largest castle complexes in Slovakia. The construction of the castle dates back to the last quarter of the 13th century. After 1760 it was abandoned and fell into a ruin. The first rescue work on it began thanks to the Association for Rescue of the Lietava Castle (ZnZLH) in 1999. We have been supporting the association for several years. We want the castle and its history to be preserved for future generations. Even our employees help as volunteers with the rescue work.

TRUC SPHÉRIQUE

We also care about the culture in our neighbourhood. That is why we have become a supporter of the civic association Truc sphérique, which runs the popular cultural centres Stanica Žilina - Záriečie and Nová Synagóga in Žilina. Their year-round and daily programme consists of festivals, theatre and dance performances, concerts, film screenings, lectures, exhibitions, workshops, courses and workshops, artist residencies, co-production of artistic projects, hosting and sending foreign volunteers, events for children and schools, bustle of small markets and community events.

OUR CITY

Every year, our employees take part in the “Our City” project. They paint fences, schools, kindergardens or revitalise parks in Žilina and Bratislava.
